August 2016 | Endeavor: Highlighting the Happenings at Garden Spot Village
Written by Scott Miller
Hello and Welcome to Endeavour - Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.
I’m standing in the new Design Center for Sycamore Springs. Some savvy boomers who recognize both the amazing lifestyle and the outstanding value will be creating their own personalized spaces in this room. It’s quite an experience. They get to shop the options, pick and choose under the guidance of Danette, a wonderfully astute interior decorator. It’s one of the advantages of getting in on the ground floor. If you like the idea of an individual house with front porch living in a community where it’s easy to engage in relationships Sycamore Springs might just be for you. We’d love for you to stop by to learn more.
Earlier this week was Grilling with the Chefs. It was an incredible outdoor fine dining experience. Check out the blog page on our website to discover all the details. Even better a Seafood fine dining experience is coming up on August 24th at 5:30 featuring Hawaiian Paella – shrimp, clams, chicken, smoked ham with ginger and pineapple served over black forbidden rice. Plus you get to meet and dine with some wonderful people. You need to be a Resident or Future Resident or their guest to participate. Being a Future Resident has its privileges.
Our international mission trips are scheduled for next year. The Dominican Republic trip will be in February and the Honduras Trip in July. Everyone is invited to get involved. These trips typically include residents, future residents, staff and members of the surrounding community. Check out the Game On page on the website to learn more.
Paint Night continues to be popular so we just keep doing it. The next one is August 26 and everyone is invited to participate. Flip to page 15 in the Garden Variety for details.
While everyone is invited to many of the things that happen on campus Future Residents get special invitations. The fee to apply to become a Future Resident is only $100 for a single person and $150 for a couple. The process includes modeling your financial situation and comparing it to what it takes to live here so that you can experience everything that Garden Spot has to offer all the time. It’s a worthwhile process and we encourage you to get involved. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities for you.
That just scratches the surface because there is lot more happening around campus. You can find all the dates and times in the August issue of the Garden Variety which we just posted on our website. Be sure to check it out!
