Living with Opportunity & Purpose
Written by Scott Miller
Words like opportunity and purpose are hallmarks of Garden Spot Village. Youthfulness is an attitude not an age. People can pack up and go and not worry about a thing because they know while they’re gone their place will be looked after, the lawn will be mowed and everything is safe and secure. It’s a great way to live.
In addition to the ability to pack up and go, there’s a lot going on and people can pick and choose when, where and to what degree they’ll get involved. There’s the marathon, a cycling event and hot air balloon rides. Then there’s building a missions camp in Honduras, building homes for the homeless and supporting causes like the fight against cancer. This year Garden Spot Village is happy to support Relay for Life at the Garden Spot High School starting Friday June 19th at 5pm and going through the night into Saturday afternoon. Check out the Relay for Life of Norlanco website to review the host of activities. The New Holland business community is Painting the Town Purple and you’ll see purple around Garden Spot Village as well.
Garden Spot Village is the Social Media sponsor for the relay and with that came the opportunity to share people’s stories. So we got out our video equipment and gave anyone who wanted to share the opportunity to step in front of a green screen and tell their story. Review their clips at Garden Spot Village Stories; you’ll find them inspiring! Cancer may have interrupted their lives but they continue to live with purpose. You’ll hear they “relay” to make a difference, support others and help find a cure.
We hope you’ll take the opportunity to join others who “relay” with a purpose and come out to the High School on June 19th or 20th.
See you on the track!
