Hello Runners,

Imagine the starting line. The adrenaline. The excitement. The buzz. Makes you smile, doesn't it? You can't help it. I know I can't.

Either you're registered for 2015 - congratulations you're going to love our race! - or you've run with us in the past.

When we run it cranks up our metabolism. We sleep better. We feel better. It lowers stress. We eat better.  And we both know, at the end of the day Long Slow Distance (LSD) is amazing! There's nothing like it in the entire world. It's why we run!! We've discovered a secret of which the rest of the world hasn't a clue.

If you're not registered and a spring run has crossed your mind, you and I both know you should register now. I know that because I've been in your shoes. It's that internal struggle . . .  "If I register I'll start training now. If I wait . . . I won't start running until after the holidays. If I don't register at all I won't have any motivation to run. I might do a couple miles now and then but it's a pretty good bet I won't do distance. I know I'm going to eat myself silly and slap on some extra pounds, at least running will burn off a bunch of calories so it won't be so bad. Oh, but I'm going to be so busy and funds are tight because I'm buying presents." Trust me, I know all the excuses in the world.

You know our course. We got hills. No doubt about that. Here are some suggestions and strategies for you. If you're competitive ramp up the hill training and come back for a course PR. You will love the challenge. If you're not so competitive don't focus on your pace, but rather come back for the amazing beauty of our course. Remember, we stay open until the last person finishes! If funds are tight, suggest someone give you a registration for Christmas. If you're already registered or you're injured (I hate the whole injury thing!!) what about giving a registration as a Christmas gift. Getting a registration as a Christmas gift is way cool!

You also know we do our best to put on a good run for everyone, including friends, family and volunteers. In addition to runner recovery, we have a concession stand for all your friends and family. We're doing custom age group awards again this year and we are a Road Apple Award run.  We do all this simply because we want you to come and run with us. We love runners and we want you to come be a part of it all.

Registration fees go up January 1st. The Marathon caps at 500, the Half at 1,000, the Kids Marathon at 500. We're expecting to sell out again this year.

Close your eyes and imagine the starting line again, the adrenaline, the excitement, the buzz, the awesomeness. I know you're smiling. You can't help it, it's just such an amazing feeling.

Do yourself a favor this holiday season, register and come run with us.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Running New Year!

Run On!
