History of Garden Spot Village

Every successful venture starts with a vision. Victor F. Weaver and Ivan Martin, two Christian businessmen, envisioned a retirement community to serve the needs of people in eastern Lancaster County.

From the seeds they planted, grew Garden Spot Village. Founded on faith in 1990, Garden Spot Village was incorporated as a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community that is committed to Christian values and principles. The first residents moved to Garden Spot Village when the doors opened in 1996.

The community is home to all faiths and backgrounds. We’re affiliated with the Lancaster Mennonite Conference of the Mennonite Church, the Atlantic Coast Conference of Mennonite Church USA, Mennonite Health Services, PANPHA , Pennsylvania Association of Non-Profit Senior Services, and AAHSA, American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.
