Garden Spot Village Announces Golf Tournament Winners

NEW HOLLAND, Pa. —July 5, 2011 — Garden Spot Village announces the winners of its 13th Annual Garden Spot Village Golf Tournament, held Tues., June 28, at Applecross Country Club, Downingtown, Pa.

A foursome from Ephrata Community Hospital—Steve Leaman, Mike Kane, Rick Haller and Jerry Hostetter—took first place with a score of 59.

In second place, with a score of 60, was a foursome from Fulton Bank—Jim Dougherty, Mike Kramer, Drue Hench and John Brown.

The third-place foursome, with a score of 63, comprised Earl Martin and Steve Kovack, from Martin’s Trailside Express, and Ed Pabon and Alex Pabon from Rehab Care.

Doug Sensenig won closest to the pin. Drue Hench won the longest drive by a man; Kathi Imford won the longest drive by a woman. Anne Knepley won straightest drive. No hole-in-one prizes were awarded.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, which helps support residents of the continuing care retirement community who need financial assistance. Ephrata Community Hospital was the presenting sponsor. Lancaster Electric was a Platinum Sponsor. Engle Business Systems; Fulton Bank; Johnson, Kendall & Johnson; Wagman Corporate Community Fund of York County Community Foundation; and Warfel Construction were Gold Sponsors. John Sauder Chevrolet was the Hole-in-One Sponsor.
