Presentation is part of the “Meet the Churches” series at Garden Spot
Village.

NEW HOLLAND, Pa. — July 27, 2009 — Ken Sensenig, assistant director of the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) East Coast, will speak as part of the summer-long “Meet the Churches” series presented by Garden Spot Village. On Wed., Aug. 12, he will discuss the Old Order Mennonite Church and on Wed., Aug. 19, he will talk about the Old Order Amish Church. Both presentations begin at 7 p.m. in the Garden Spot Village chapel at 433 S. Kinzer Ave.

“This series is designed to celebrate our area’s rich spiritual heritage as
well as to educate us about the theological and ecclesiological diversity
represented among the Christian churches of our area,” said Chet Yoder,
director of pastoral care at Garden Spot Village. “The talks are meant to be informative and also to give participants an opportunity to be inspired by the fellowship of Christ’s people.”

Garden Spot Village is home to all faiths and backgrounds. Each week since June, the retirement community has hosted different pastors or religiousb leaders to talk about their denomination and their congregation. In his role at MCC, Sensenig relates closely with congregations all along the East Coast, including Old Order Amish and Mennonites in Lancaster. Sensenig is also a historian.

The final presentation in the Meet the Churches series will be Rev. Galen
Hackman, of Ephrata Church of the Brethren, who will speak on Wed., Aug. 26, at 7 p.m.

Meet the Churches is open to residents of Garden Spot Village and the
general public. The event is free. No pre-registration is required. For more
