The Jacobs Brothers to Perform at Garden Spot Village
Local favorites to offer a traditional gospel Christmas program
NEW HOLLAND, Pa. — Dec. 3, 2009 — Garden Spot Village is pleased to announce that The Jacobs Brothers will present a traditional gospel Christmas program on Sun., Dec. 13, beginning at 7 p.m. in the chapel at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave.
“We welcome The Jacobs Brothers to our stage,” said Colleen Musselman, director of life enrichment at the retirement community. “Another venue needed to cancel for that evening, so their loss is our blessing.”
The Jacobs Brothers have been sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through song and testimony since 1962. They have take their ministry to thousands of people across the country. The group comprises Mike Jacobs, lead singer and musical coordinator; Bob Jacobs, bass singer and manger; and Mike Lawver, pianist and vocalist. Their latest recording is “It’s a Wonderful Life,” featuring songs like “Higher Ground” and “My Heavenly Father.”
The Jacobs Brothers Evangelistic Association is a non-profit ministry. Their television show first aired in 1973; today it can be seen weekly on WGCB-TV, channel 49, Red Lion. In 1977 the Jacobs Brothers purchased an 84-acre farm near Dillsburg to start a camping ministry for children. The King’s Kid’s Camp gives underprivileged children the opportunity to go to camp, even if they are without financial meetings. It is also the site of the annual Gospel Music Campmeeting.
