Keystone Brass Quintet to Play Carols at Garden Spot Village

Free Saturday evening concert is slated for December 19 in the community chapel.

NEW HOLLAND, Pa. — Nov. 23, 2009 — The Keystone Brass Quintet will welcome the Christmas season with traditional carols, contemporary Christian Christmas music and more as part of the Garden Spot Village Saturday Evening Concert Series on Sat., Dec. 19, beginning at 7 p.m. in the chapel at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave.

A regional favorite, the Keystone Brass Quintet was formed in 1976, and the group still includes three of its original members. Since its founding, the quintet has given more than 300 performances. Their varied repertoire includes renaissance and baroque music, big band and Broadway show tunes, opera and contemporary music.

The Keystone Brass Quintet is Doug Winemiller, trumpet; Peter Johnston, trumpet; Stephen Burg, French horn; Michael Dietz, trombone; and James Biddle, tuba.

Other concerts in the series at Garden Spot Village include the Schwandt Family Chamber Ensemble on Jan. 16; Dr. Kenneth Laudermilch and Margaret Marsch on Feb. 20; and the Singing Boys of Pennsylvania and Keystone Girls Choir on Mar. 20. The Red Rose City Chorus will wrap up the season with a performance on Apr. 17.

All concerts begin at 7 p.m. in the chapel at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave. The concerts are free and open to the public. Donations to the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, which helps support residents who need financial assistance, will be accepted at the door.
