Hello and Welcome to Endeavour – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

If you haven’t met me yet, I’m Juanita Fox, the story teller here at Garden Spot Village  – I have the privilege of telling the stories of the amazing men and women who live and work at Garden Spot Village. This is my first Endeavor – and – you may see me again when I fill in for Scott Miller.

Today I’m here in one of our courtyards, one of the many places to enjoy early fall on our campus.

October is always a busy month, with lots of opportunities to visit. We will host the 22nd annual Garden Spot Village – fall festival — on Saturday, October 13 from 7am to 2pm.

We have so many events planned – an all you can eat pancake breakfast – a food court where you can find sandwiches, soup and snacks throughout the day – plus a chicken barbecue.

Not to mention all of the activities we have for the children in your life – face painting – crafts — pumpkin decorating — and so much more. Plus, the train room is open from 12 to 2 pm.

Another part of the day you don’t want to miss is the silent auction and country store. You could get your Christmas shopping done early – with all of the gift baskets, handcrafted items and more – that you will find.
The best part? All of the proceeds for the day benefit the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund.

On Saturday, October 20 we will host a campus wide open house. Each fall Garden Spot Village participates in the Explore Retirement Living Open Houses hosted by 18 retirement communities across Lancaster County. This is a great opportunity for you to visit our campus, explore at your own pace, meet residents and discover the Garden Spot difference. So, if you are 50 and over, plan to stop in between 10 am and 4 pm on Saturday, October 20. We can’t wait to see you!

It’s official! Saturday, April 6 is the date for the Garden Spot Village half marathon and 10K. Our brand new course still features the rolling countryside and Amish farms that sets our race apart. Also, ELANCO Public Library is our brand new partner for the kids marathon. Visit gardenspotvillage.run for all of the details.

October is full of opportunities at Garden Spot – AND –  you can find details for the events I mentioned earlier –  plus –  everything else that is going on – in the October Issue – of the Garden Variety . .  which we just posted . . on the events page  . .  of the website.

This has been Endeavor – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

I’m Juanita Fox and I hope to meet you soon. As we always say here . . . Life is Good!
