December 2017 | Endeavor: Highlighting the Happenings at Garden Spot Village

Written by Scott Miller

Hello and Welcome to Endeavour - Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

The Christmas Season is upon us and the celebrations are ramping up. You’ll want to stop by this holiday season to experience the annual winter wonderland. There are close to 100 Christmas Trees and you can get you favorite holiday Starbucks at Refresh.

Provided you’re on the Radar Screen or you’ve submitted your application and you’re a Future Resident, Future Residency has its privileges, you will have received a Christmas Card from us with an invitation to the Annual Resident Drop-in from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday December 14th. Hundreds of people come out for the event in Village Square. There are a variety of wonderful holiday Hors d’oeuvres tastefully created at action station plus a host of delicious treats. The evening ends with a good old fashioned Christmas Carol sign around the baby grand! It’s a blast

There’s also an invitation for our annual Future Resident Theater event on Tuesday December 19th. Back by popular demand is A Dicken’s Christmas. This is an interactive dinner theater event that people thoroughly enjoy.  Meet Scrooge, Marley, Bob Cratchet  and Charles Dickens himself. Reservations are required and can be made starting at 8:00 a.m. eastern standard time on Wednesday December 6th. All the information is on the Invitations that were sent to Future Residents.

You’ll want to put Breakfast with Santa on your calendar as well. It’s from  8:00 - 9:30am on Saturday December 9th.  Bring the grandkids and enjoy a mouthwatering breakfast with Santa and Mrs Claus. It’s $14.95 for adults and $9.95 for children ages 3-10. It includes breakfast, a photo opportunity with Santa and Mrs Claus, a visit to the Train Room and more!

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the 13th Annual Train Display Open Houses on Saturdays during the holiday season. Check the website or Garden Variety for dates and times.

If you like the Best Kept Secret Tours Garden Spot Village is on this year’s Holiday Tour and it’s just another reason to stop by and visit

Those are just a few of the highlights. There is so much more going on. We just posted the December issue of the Garden Variety on the website where you can discover everything that’s going on around campus.

This has been Endeavor – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

I’m Scott Miller and I’d like to be the first to wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I hope to see you around campus this Christmas season and as I always say  . . . Life is Good!
