Hello and Welcome to Endeavor – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

The Christmas Season is upon us and the celebrations are under way. You’ll want to stop by this holiday season to experience the annual winter wonderland. You can catch a glimpse of it behind me. While you’re here be sure to get your favorite holiday Starbucks and visit the Refresh gift shop. The displays and gifts are amazing! As always, you’re more than welcome to drop in and enjoy the holiday festivities.

Provided you’re on the Radar Screen or you’ve submitted your application and you’re a Future Resident, you will have received a Christmas Card from us with an invitation to the Annual Resident Drop-in from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday December 13th. Hundreds of people come out for the event in Village Square. There are a variety of wonderful holiday hors d’oeuvres, tastefully created at action stations, plus a host of delicious treats. The evening ends with a good old fashioned Christmas Carol sing around the baby grand! It’s a blast.

There’s also an invitation for our annual Future Resident Theater event on Wednesday December 19th. Back again this year is A Dicken’s Christmas. This is an interactive dinner theater event that people thoroughly enjoy. Meet Scrooge, Marley, Bob Cratchet and Charles Dickens himself. Reservations are required and can be made starting at 8:00 a.m. eastern standard time on Wednesday December 5th. All the information is on the invitations that were sent to Future Residents.

You’ll want to put Breakfast with Santa on your calendar as well. It’s from 8:00 – 9:30am on Saturday, December 8th.  Bring the grandkids and enjoy a mouthwatering breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus. It’s $14.95 for adults and $9.95 for children ages 3-10. No charge for kids 2 and under. It includes breakfast, a photo opportunity with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a visit to the Train Room and more! See the Events page on our website to get your tickets online.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the 14th Annual Train Display Open Houses on Saturdays during the holiday season. Check the website or Garden Variety for dates and times.

There are two spacious Sycamore Springs homes ready for move-in. If you’ve had enough snow shoveling or want to move back to the area closer to family we’d love for you to live here. And, that is just the new beginning of what many say is the best part of life.

Those are just a few of the highlights. There is so much more to do. We just posted the December issue of the Garden Variety on the website where you can discover everything that’s going on around campus.

This has been Endeavor – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

I’m Scott Miller and I’d like to be the first to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I hope to see you around campus this Christmas season and as I always say  . . . Life is Good!
