Hello and Welcome to Endeavour – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

Here we are in the Cooperative Living House which is probably the most beautiful affordable living opportunity in the country. Look at this. Isn’t it amazing. Sharing living space and life together is a rapidly growing trend. Millennials are embracing it as a way to connect socially and live affordably. Garden Spot has applied it on the other end of the spectrum so older adults can connect socially and live affordably. The initiative just received the Impact Lancaster Award from the Chamber of Commerce and & is finalist in the Central Penn Business Journal’s Non-profit Innovation Award. It’s pretty cool.

February has some awesome events lined up. You can make reservations for an amazing Valentine’s dinner on February 14th by calling The Harvest Table.  There’s a hand dipped chocolate strawberry event. Plus the 10th annual Bird House silent auction takes place, just to name a few.

You’re involvement with Garden Spot is one of the best things you could do. When we wrapped up the carriage homes and the village square apartments, for a short time, there were several homes available for anyone who wanted one. A few people jumped at the opportunity.  I remember one of those conversations in particular because the couple said, “we got thinking, if we’re not ready now. What will make us ready? Here we have a beautiful home for our choosing. Why not do it now?” They decided to influence their destiny and take charge of their future. Today, those people stop – me in the hallway and say: . . . “I’m so glad we came to see you. You told us not to wait. We went home, thought about it and decided we’re as ready now as we’re ever going to be and an opportunity like this might never come again. In fact, we might not even be living here if we wouldn’t have done it then. That was one of the best decisions we ever made.” One of those people was 58 when they decided to move ahead. You could be one of those people – who 10 years from now – looks  back and says. I … am . . . soo  . . glad we saw Scott’s video and decided to take one of the  Sycamore Springs houses. A couple took one in January. They are not going to last. Come get yours! You will be so glad you did. Do it now. You’re gonna love living here.

The lifestyle’s incredible. It’s filled with opportunities to live with purpose in this well-connected community. Whether you’re 55 or 75 you can’t find a better place to live. Part of the reason is because there is so much going on all the time.

To that end we just posted the February issue of the Garden Variety on the website where you can discover all the events taking place this month.

This has been Endeavor – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

I’m Scott Miller and I hope to see you around campus. As I always say  . . . Life is Good!
