Hello and Welcome to Endeavour – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

It’s September. Can you believe it? Last month I was standing outside the Sycamore Springs Model and it could have been yours. This month I’m inside. Unfortunately, if you like what you see this one is sold. Fortunately, there a few more available.

Recently a resident told me this story. He said, we came to visit when the Carriage Home construction was wrapping up much Sycamore Springs is now. We were asked the question, which one do you want? There are only 5 left? We casually put a hold on one. The thing is we hadn’t planned to move for another 6 or 7 years but the more we thought about it – the more it made sense. We said to ourselves, if we don’t do this now – who knows when – we might have another opportunity like it? We literally decided overnight and it was the best decision we ever made. It’s so much more than we ever expected. His wife was 58 at the time.

Another resident recently told me. I was here for a tour and talking to a guy in the woodshop. He told me, point blank, don’t make the same mistake I did. I waited until I was 75. I should have done it 10 years ago the day I retired. I feel like all those years between when I retired and when I moved here were wasted. If only I had realized what life here would be like. I had no idea what I was missing.

In the past at least one person in a couple or a single person had to be 62 to live at Garden Spot. The age was just lowered to 55 because people under the age of 60 want to live here and that’s when the average move-in age for  communities like this is 82 plus. Boomers are choosing Garden Spot at a very young age. You have to ask yourself –  what’s going on? Am I missing something?

September’s a peak decision making time for people looking to make a change. Right now, houses are selling in days and you could be in a new home here before the holidays. If it feels like there should be more to life, if you need a change – you’d being doing yourself a favor by coming to visit.

There are many reasons why people choose Garden Spot earlier rather than later. A big one is all the opportunities to do things that are meaningful to you while connecting with a strong social network.

It’s also because of things like those taking place on Saturday, September 16th. There’s a Saturday open house here at the Sycamore Springs model and next door at the Community Building from 10:00 to 2:00. For those who stop by there will be a drawing for 2 hot air balloon tickets. If a balloon ride is on your bucket list this could be your opportunity. Please stop by to visit and talk with us.

Later that day the annual Crossnet Garden Gala will be held in the Legacy Garden. It’s a wonderful evening . . . strolling through the gardens . . . enjoying hor’derves & variety of foods while engaging with an energetic group of people from the surrounding community. Plus it supports another local non-profit ministry that serves the area.

To discover everything that is going on in September you can check out the Septmber issue of the Garden Variety. We just posted it on the Garden Spot Village website.

This has been Endeavor – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

I’m Scott Miller and I hope to see you around campus and as I always say  . . . Life is Good!
