Strawberry Turnover makes 4 servings
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups strawberries, hulled and diced
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
Directions
-
In a saucepan on medium-low heat, add the strawberries, water, granulated sugar, and corn starch. Cook for 5 minutes, then smash strawberries with a potato masher. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
-
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
-
Lay out the sheet of puff pastry and cut into 4 even squares.
-
Place 2 tablespoons of the strawberry filling in the middle of each square.
-
Brush the edge of each square with the beaten egg, then fold the square over to form a triangle. Crimp all the edges with a fork to seal. Repeat with the remaining squares.
-
Move turnovers to a baking sheet and brush with the remaining egg wash.
-
Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool while making the glaze.
-
For the glaze, combine the powdered sugar and milk. Using a spoon, drizzle glaze over turnovers in a back-and-forth motion.
