Servant Stage Company is bringing its Old-Time Gospel Radio Hour back to Garden Spot Village, and it's bigger and better than ever with more than 30 vocalists and instrumentalists. Join us for some hand-clappin', foot-stompin' entertainment on February 27–28.
NEW HOLLAND, PA. — Jan. 29, 2015 — Enjoy an evening of hand-clapping, foot-stomping entertainment for the whole family when Servant Stage Company presents "Old-Time Radio Gospel Hour" at Garden Spot Village on Friday, Feb. 27 and Saturday, Feb 28. Both shows begin at 7 p.m. in the community chapel.
"We're excited to present this uplifting and entertaining program, which combines fiddles, banjos, and outstanding vocal harmonies with old-time radio comedy," said Colleen Musselman, director of life enrichment at Garden Spot Village.
The concert will feature more than 30 vocalists and instrumentalists of all ages performing beloved songs and hymns such as "I'll Fly Away," "His Eye Is on the Sparrow," "Uncloudy Day" and "Down to the River to Pray." The show will be staged as an old-time radio broadcast featuring fictitiuos musical groups representing different styles of gospel music. The cast includes vocalists and instrumentalists from Servant Stage, the Fulton, Sight & Sound, American Music Theatre and other theaters throughout the Lancaster County area.
Servant Stage Co. began as a group of professional performers and young music students who rehearsed at Garden Spot Village and performed for residents there. Today, they are a non-profit organization dedicated to making uplifting, quality musical and theatrical experiences easily accessible to the community, espeically those with financial or physical limitations. They have performed at Sight and Sound Theatres, Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, Cavod Academy, Fulton Opera House, and other venues.
Garden Spot Village is located at 433 S. Kinzer Ave. The concerts are free and open to the public. Donations to benefit Servant Stage Company will be accepted at the door.
