The Garden Spot Village Train Club’s Model Trains

The Garden Spot Village Train Club welcomes you to visit! We offer Train Room Open Houses quarterly, as well as during our Fall Festival in October and during the Christmas Season. The extensive HO-gauge and O-gauge layouts provide plenty of train action complemented with heavily detailed scenery. The latest technology is implemented in all areas for operation, including ‘sounding’ a horn or whistle from a smart phone! These events are free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated. Visit our events page for upcoming open house dates.

Model Trains at The Train Room Open House

The focus of the HO-gauge layout is Thomasville, where Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends, Percy and Emily, can be seen with ease. This area provides the ever-popular “Talk with Thomas” event. In addition, a German village includes a trolley stop and RR main line passing by the large station. The main yard area is now accessible on both ends, and the engine house turntable operates routinely. The camera train projects the main line trip onto a large 55” TV as viewed from the engine cab.

The O-gauge layout features a basic mountain design with a resort hotel overlooking a lake that discharges over waterfalls as the stream winds across the layout. Focal points include an operating diner, a car wash, a drive-in movie theater, a Ford dealership showroom and a logging operation. Each of these areas provide interactive buttons and action for children to enjoy. In addition, a Garden Spot Village hot air balloon flies above the display and a monorail loops the resort.
