DESCRIPTION:We are deeply honored that Gishu Jebecha and Desalegn Abebe will be joining us this evening for a presentation about their work in Ethiopia. Gishu Jebecha is the principal at Meserete Kristos Seminary in Bishoftu\, Ethiopia. Desalegn Abebe\, is the president of Meserete Kristos Church in Addis Ababa\, Ethiopia.  \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Meserete Kristos Church of Ethiopia grew out of the work of pioneering Mennonite missionaries. The first baptisms took place in 1951. Today the church\, by God’s grace and power\, is the largest Mennonite-related church in the world with about 1 million members in all regions of the country. The mission of MK Seminary is “to equip men and women for the holistic transformation of the church and society.” It is a huge task in a rapidly developing nation with significant poverty and ethnic conflict. The Seminary has launched a capital campaign to raise funds to construct a mixed-use building to expand and diversify the college’s infrastructure. \n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us as we learn more about the mission of Meserete Kristos.
