SYCAMORE SPRINGS EXPANSION OFFERS A VISION FOR THE FUTURE
Written by Juanita Fox, director of media experiences and storytelling
The vision for Sycamore Springs dates back more than 20 years, as Garden Spot Village leadership began to dream about what the future of retirement living could entail. The result sets aside traditional retirement housing ideas and creates a curated neighborhood modeled after a small town that rises and falls with the existing elevation.
The existing single-family homes at Sycamore Springs lay the groundwork for the future. The newest phase, currently available for pre-sale, includes low-rise villas and a boutique hotel-style apartment building. In the expansion, Headington Lane crosses Linden and leads to Beacon Plaza. This common green space serves as the neighborhood hub, inviting people of all ages to enjoy concerts, food trucks, fitness classes and time with friends and family in an experiential community space.
Rather than a cookie-cutter design where every home looks and feels the same, The Villas provide a sense of individuality, where buildings follow the curve of the street and nearly every accommodation has its own floorplan. The neighborhood is built for individuals and couples, 55+, who crave originality in community.
n the current expansion, rooftop terraces in the Beacon Apartment Building, paired with private balconies and patios in the Villas offer comfortable spaces for recreation and relaxation, with sweeping views for miles.
Small gardens tucked between the buildings create natural outdoor gathering spaces to host tai chi or yoga classes, drink coffee with a friend or just relax.
A future phase of the expansion will include additional dining, shopping and community spaces as well as unique apartment living. As the neighborhood continues to expand southward, community-inspired living will continue to take shape in exceptional and engaging ways.
