Sounds of Summer: Free Lancaster County Concerts

Looking for a relaxing and enjoyable way to spend your summer days or nights? A multitude of free concerts and musical performances offered across Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, are sure to pique the interest of music lovers who appreciate any style.   

Long’s Park Amphitheater – 1441 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 

This summer, Long’s Park will hold free concerts every Sunday evening at 7:30 PM.  A total of 12 concerts will be held, and they are open to the community. Genres include Scottish Celtic rock, New Orleans funk, and East African retro pop. The U.S Army Band will also put on a patriotic performance for Independence Day. Garden Spot Village is one of many local sponsors which bring this concert series to the community.    

Entertainment in the Park – New Holland Memorial Park, 400 E Jackson St, New Holland, PA 17557

New Holland Summer Arts Association hosts a series of concerts from July 3 through Labor Day each summer. The free concerts are held Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday evenings through July and August and feature a variety of music genres. Garden Spot Village is a faithful sponsor of this summer concert series; the Chapel serves as the rain location for many of the concerts.

The Sounds of Strasburg – 151 Precision Ave, Strasburg, PA 17579 

Celebrate the 10th season of Strasburg’s musical program by attending one of their many free concerts at the Strasburg Community Park! The events are geared towards family, and people of all ages are welcome. Food vendors are conveniently located on-site.     

Greenfield’s Outdoor Music Concert Series – 1853 William Penn Way, Lancaster, PA, 17601 

Greenfield Park offers three summer concerts open to the public at no cost. They seek to celebrate iconic musical figures, including Taylor Swift, Billy Joel, and Freddie Mercury. Concerts will run regardless of the weather.  Bring a chair, your friends, and a desire for fun! 

The Barn at Paradise Station – 312 Paradise Lane, Ronks, PA, 17572 

Jazz enjoyers will especially love The Barn at Paradise Station’s weekly “Jazz on the Patio” performances.  Each event will feature an experienced performer or group of jazz musicians. The concerts are free to attend, and food and drink is available to purchase from the accompanying bistro.

Longwood Gardens Summer Performance Series – 1001 Longwood Rd, Kennett Square, PA 19348  

Alongside beautiful views, Longwood Gardens offers a variety of lively summer concerts. They have performances ranging from classical to country music.  Many require pre-purchased tickets, while others are free with garden admission. Explore their website for further details.       

Hersheypark Stadium – 100 Hersheypark Dr, Hershey, PA 17033 

Hersheypark Stadium hosts concerts starring acclaimed artists from across the country. From pop stars to indie icons, there is a performance for everyone!  Tickets must be purchased in advance online, and range in price depending on the show.   

Live music performances are one of the many enjoyable activities to pursue throughout the summer months.  They provide listeners with the opportunity to share musical experiences with family and friends, making a fun day for all.
