December 2016 | Endeavor: Highlighting the Happenings at Garden Spot Village

Written by Scott Miller

Hello and Welcome to Endeavour - Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

The Christmas Season is upon us and the celebrations are underway. The Village Square has been transformed into a winter wonderland. I’m standing in front of one of the dozens of trees. The wreath has been hung from the atrium and the scenescape is spectacular. I hope you get a chance to visit before the end of the year. As you would expect our Refresh Café is serving the Christmas Starbucks specialties. Come, enjoy a Starbucks and the community.

Provided you have submitted your application and you’re a Future Resident, Future Residency has it’s privileges, you will have received a Christmas Card from us with an invitation to the Annual Resident Drop-in from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday December 8th. Hundreds of people come out for the event in Village Square. There are a variety of wonderful holiday Hors d’oeuvres tastefully created at action station plus a host of tasty treats. There is a flute recital, piano recital and the evening ends with good old fashioned Christmas Caroling around the piano.

There was also an invitation for our annual Future Resident Theater event on December 15th featuring a wonderful Christmas dinner, and an evening with leadership and residents. The Christmas Story from the Gospel of Luke will be presented by Piercing Word. It is an outstanding evening. Reservations are required and can be made starting at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday December 7th.
All the information is on the Invitations that were sent to Future Residents.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the 12th Annual Train Display Open Houses. There is over 1,000 feet of track, 15 trains, 2 trolleys and several interactive displays. As expected Thomas the Tank Engine is with us again this year interacting with the kids. The layouts and configurations are all new. You won’t want to miss it. You can find the dates and times on the Events page of our website or in the December Garden Variety which we just posted.

Those are just a few of the highlights. There is so much more going on. As mentioned we just posted the December issue of the Garden Variety on the website where you find out about everything that is going on around campus during the Christmas Season.

This has been Endeavor – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

I’m Scott Miller and I want to wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I hope to see you around campus this Christmas and as I always say  . . . Life is Good!
