Endeavor: Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village in September
Written by Scott Miller
Hello and welcome to Endeavor - Highlighing the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.
I interviewed a woman last week for a position we have open in the marketing department. She just retired and was looking for something new to keep her busy. She commented, “now it’s just me and my husband and ... am... I... ever... glad... he has a woodshop in the basement! BUT what I really miss are the people.” I talk to people all the time who have limited social interactions and don’t know what to do with themselves. I can assure you, those are not problems for people who live at Garden Spot Village. There is plenty to do and a lot of people to do it with.
For example, 36 people are headed to Cape May on our “comfie” Coach Bus for a day in September. They can swim, shop . . . enjoy fresh seafood in this beautify Victorian Town. I love Cape May. No fuss. Just an enjoyable day. The catch is - you need to live at Garden Spot Village to participate.
Since 2011 we’ve collected a bunch of unused drugs on National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Don’t flush your unused drugs down the toilet or send them to the landfill in the trash. Drop them off at Garden Spot Village on Saturday September 12th for safe disposal. It keeps them off the illegal market and it’s better for the planet. We do this in cooperation with the New Holland Police department so if you have unused drugs we encourage you to drop them off here.
Another story, at our last Look & Learn seminar I was talking to couple and it was their 3rd Look & Learn. He said he felt guilty for coming 3 times but they learned something new every time. Ya know what . . . we’re okay with that - because we know it’s a lot of information, besides . . . we love visitors and you’re welcome to bring guests. If you haven’t been to one - you should sign up, and if you have - it’s okay to come back for a refresher. No worries.
Finally - we’re pretty excited to offer a new seminar series starting in September. It’s for people who have submitted an application and been qualified as future residents - Future Resident Status . . . has its advantages. Our September seminar focuses on Real Estate and in October we feature Estate Planning. To learn more visit the Look & Learn page on our website and look for the seminar link.
We just posted the September issue of The Garden Variety where you can discover all that’s going on this month. You can find it on the events page on our website or by clicking here.
This has been Endeavor – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.
I’m Scott Miller and I hope to see you around campus.
As I always say . . . Life is Good!
