May 2016 | Endeavor: Highlighting the Happenings at Garden Spot Village

Written by Scott Miller

Hello and Welcome to Endeavour - Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.

Mother’s Day is’n May and is cause for celebrations around campus. The Harvest Table restaurant has another ----fabulous-----  Mother’s Day menu planed again this year  . . .  as it always does!

May 20th is ride your bike to work day. In fact, that whole week is ride your bike to work week. You don’t have to be working to put some miles on your bike. It’s good for you and easy on the body. If you like to ride. . .  Pedal to Preserve, which benefits the Lancaster Farmland Trust,  is coming up on June 4th. It’s hosted on our campus and there’s a 6, a 20 and a 51 mile ride to choose from. Between 1,000 and 1,500 cyclists participate every year. There’s a Garden Spot Village Team forming. If you’d like to join the excitement send me a e-mail for details.

May 6th is Shred it day. It’s an easy, secure  - hassle free way to shred old check registers or other personal documents. You can drop off your documents between 9 and 11 in the morning. We ask for a donation of $5 per box or bag to help cover costs.

The Amish Educational series started in April and continues through May. This is an extremely popular series. Last week over 250 people attended and many of them from the New Holland community. Garden Spot Village works very hard at being a good neighbor and one of the ways that’s accomplished is to sponsor events for everyone in the area.

Garden Spot Village is celebrating it’s  20th anniversary in 2016. Keep an eye out for invitations to join the excitement later in the year. Right now we are featuring the stories of long time residents in the Garden Variety which we just posted online.

As always there’s a lot happening around campus. You can find all the dates and times in the May issue. Be sure to check it out!

This has been Endeavor – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.
