Hello and Welcome to Endeavor – a monthly video update from Garden Spot Village, where you will discover the abundant opportunities you have to live with purpose in community.

I’m Juanita Fox, the director of media experiences and storytelling. Thank you for joining us this month for Endeavor.

All of us at Garden Spot Village hope that you and your family are safe and well. If you are interested in learning about how we are responding to the COVID-19 situation, we have a button on the home page of the Garden Spot Village website where you can click through to learn more. We update the information a couple times a week, so this is your most reliable source for how Garden Spot is responding to the situation.

In a conversation with a resident earlier this week, she said, I am so thankful we live at Garden Spot Village. We are safe and many of the team members–including the CEO–are working to keep our community clean and healthy by disinfecting common areas every two hours. I don’t even want to begin to think about what life might be like, if we were still living in our previous community.

In March we transitioned our half marathon and 10K to a virtual challenge. We were very disappointed that we couldn’t welcome all of the runners to our campus, but we were so pleased that many of our runners chose to run anyway! In the weeks since we ended the challenge runners have asked, are we too late? Can we run again? I’m pleased to announce that we re-opened the Virtual Challenge on May 1. Spaces are limited. Registration will remain open until May 15 or until it’s full! You can complete the challenge any time through the month of May and we’ll mail you all of the great race swag Garden Spot is known for. Learn more and register at gardenspotvillage.run.

We just posted the May issue of the Garden Variety on the Events page of the Garden Spot Village website. At this time, events are only available for residents but we’ve included some interesting articles about how people are connecting, even though we are in a stay-at-home order. We look forward to reopening the campus as soon we can.

I’m Juanita Fox and I look forward to seeing you again soon.
