Hello and Welcome to Endeavor – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village, where you will find abundant opportunities to live with purpose in community.

I’m Juanita Fox, the story teller here at Garden Spot Village and I’m pleased to share the many ways we have to live with purpose here at Garden Spot Village.

Today I’m here in Refresh Coffee bar, a great place to share a cup of hot chocolate, coffee or tea and spend some time with friends and family on a cold and wintery morning.

February offers a number of opportunities for you to visit Garden Spot Village. First, the Garden Spot Village Woodshop is hosting the 11th annual Bird House Display and Silent Auction in the Village Park. Now through Thursday, February 28, if you stop by the Village Park, you will discover a collection of unique bird houses in a variety of sizes and shapes, made from a variety of materials. It’s craftsmanship and creativity at its best! All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund.

If you are looking for a Valentine’s gift for your sweetheart, Refresh Gifts and Essentials has a variety of gifts and cards that will delight your love. Or, you can pre-order hand-dipped chocolate covered strawberries for just $12 per half-dozen at Refresh Coffee Bar. That’s an incredible price and they are delicious! The strawberries will be available just in time for Valentine’s Day.

At Garden Spot Village we contribute to the New Holland and greater Lancaster community in a variety of ways. One of those ways is our monthly making a difference collection. Every month is different! Some months we collect eye glasses, other months we collect backpacks or scarves and mittens. Through the month of February we will collect non-perishable food items for the CrossNet Food Pantry. If you would like to join us in this food drive, drop off your donations in the barrel in the apartment suites lobby, by the post office. Last February we collected 246 pounds of food for the CrossNet Food Pantry. That’s nearly 10 pounds a day! We want to collect even more this year!

April is just around the corner and with it, the Garden Spot Village half marathon and 10K. Our brand new course still features the rolling countryside and Amish farms that sets our race apart. Also, ELANCO Public Library is our brand new partner for the kids marathon. Visit gardenspotvillage.run for all of the details and to register.

February is full of opportunities at Garden Spot and you can find details for the events I mentioned earlier, plus everything else that is going on in the February Issue of the Garden Variety, which we just posted on the events page of the website.

This has been Endeavor – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village, where you will find Abundant Opportunities to Live with Purpose in Community.

I’m Juanita Fox and I hope to meet you soon. As we always say at Garden Spot Village, Life is Good!
