This month’s Endeavor shares the story of a group of residents who traveled to Queens to volunteer at the New York School of Urban Ministry. How do you endeavor to live with purpose?
On Sunday, October 9th, the group departed from Garden Spot Village to use their skills and abilities to share Jesus’ love with the New York School of Urban Ministry and those who live in the greater New York City area.
While at the school, they worked on many different projects, including dorm room restorations, electrical work, marketing, and development materials. This work is vital to the school’s continued operation that helps prepare individuals to minister to those in their community.
On Monday evening, the group went into the community to a veteran’s shelter to provide a hot meal to the unhoused in the community. While handing out a hot meal, the residents also gave hygiene packs and prayed over those who needed security.
The lives of the residents and those they touched on this trip have been forever changed.
